ROES Retail

The ROES Retail client offers the same exciting multinode capability as the ROES Pro client, but with some subtle differences. The user interface is simplified to appeal to a broad customer base, from professional photographer to consumer.

Roes Retail is available as a java web applet (so that photographers go to a web site every time they want to use it), as a downloadable application, and as a kiosk for walk-in trade.

The ROES Retail Client applet can be inserted into your website where it will run within the web browser itself.

The downloadable application allows your customers to download your branded ROES Retail client onto their desktop for easy access.

The ROES Retail Kiosk runs as an application on any web connected system, with the ability to search pre-defined drives such as card readers or CD/DVD drives.The ROES Kiosk could be in your own reception, or at a nearby college or shop with a broadband connection.

You can have up to 5 clients with ROES Retail, one of which must be a test/development client for your own use building and developing the template file. Don’t stop with the lab, think about another Roes client with different branding targeting different customers, or maybe you have a large customer who could benefit from having their own ROES client. This last idea works well with schools and events photographers.

ROES Retail does have one very nice feature that is working very effectively in the States for vertically integrated labs, and that is the “Get Web Images” function. This enables your client to find his or her images from an event and order directly through ROES on your website, directly into your production system when using the ROES Stand Alone Server or DP2 Server. Development is currently underway for compatibility with the ROES Halse Server.

Ordering through ROES Retail is easy; your customers simply choose a folder of their images, then drag and drop selected images onto your products. When your customer has completed her order she can transmit it immediately from within the ROES client direct to your lab, via an in built FTP function. All orders are encrypted by the ROES client and can only be opened by your ROES Server.

The Pager, Presenter and Packager Add-On Modules currently available as extras with the ROES Pro client are not available with ROES Retail.
